Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team at Diraya Inc. offering a full-time position that includes on-site work in Ottawa, Canada.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and enhancing core trading and risk management systems. You will work closely with our founding team to bring new products to market and solve complex problems.
Responsibilities
● Develop and maintain components of the core trading and execution engines (order management, risk management, pricing and settlement systems).
● Improving performance and stability of the trading engine
● Designing low-latency, high-availability applications
● Writing a boatload of tests
Required Skills
● At least 3 years of programming experience in a lower level programming language, i.e. Rust, C++ or Go
● Experience running critical systems with high uptime levels
● Experience building distributed systems.
● Familiarity developing on UNIX systems.
● Understanding of basic DevOps operations.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment
Nice to have:
● Interest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
● Experience working with relational and time series databases.
● Interest in Security
● Experience building trading infrastructure or experience in a finance related field (FX, HFT, Electronic Trading)
● Experience delivering real-time data over the web
● Experience building and working on cryptocurrency projects (bonus points for anything related to Bitcoin Core, Ordinals, Runes or Stacks)
● Experience running and managing cryptocurrency nodes for your own projects
